To ensure that the Physical Plant server systems operate at the highest possible level of reliability and security, it is necessary to regularly perform various maintenance operations on them.

Due to the need to perform server maintenance operations regularly, the Division has set aside 6 a.m. until noon on Sunday mornings for this purpose. This gives the Division computer systems group personnel the opportunity to perform this necessary work during a regularly scheduled, well known time.

To explain what the server downtime can mean to users, and how to avoid being inconvenienced by the scheduled downtimes, check out our YouTube video. Information Technologist II John Fishbeck walks us through the process, explaining why the downtime is needed and how best to stay informed.
