Suggestion 36

Suggestions in order received | Suggestions by category | Return to MSU Way

Consider having a Physical Plant architect work for Residential and Hospitality Services (RHS) a portion of the time to standardize processes for construction and renovation regardless of whether the building is academic or residential in function.

Feedback:

  • Desirability:
    • Yes on the standardization pieces. It is not necessary to embed Physical Plant employees in RHS or vice versa.
    • Yes – experiences in processes need to be shared
  • Feasibility:
    • The embedding part is not in this committee’s purview.
    • The standardization can be easily done. In the current process, there are really very few divergences, one from the other (that is, some of this consolidation has already occurred over recent years).
    • The department heads of both units affected need to decide on the impact this will have and move forward if able.

Suggestions welcome

Feedback can reach the MSU Way: ECOS steering committee through the online suggestion box. Please feel free to submit your ideas to us either anonymously or with an identifier. All suggestions will be posted as anonymous even if an identifier is given.
