The design staff is required to send out a planning team memo after Board of Trustees Step 1, and most, if not all, of Campus Infrastructure Planning Work Group (CIPWG) is included in the notice. Often, the majority of CIPWG does not respond, attend specially prepared meetings, and as a result, have requested a third CIPWG meeting into the mix.
As an observer of this whole undertaking, it’s hard to say when suggestions are coming in, when they are posted to the website, and when the feedback is generated. Please consider adding "date posted" to the suggestion and the feedback lines on this website.
Create an online tracking system for service requests for the customer. The tracking system will show status updates throughout the life of the service (i.e. processed, assigned, completed, etc.).
When new employees start at Engineering and Architectural Services they have a difficult time figuring out how to get anything done i.e. what is the current process, who to communicate with, of whom to ask questions, where is everything filed for each discipline, etc.
Teamwork and communication needs more of a higher priority amongst all departments within the Physical Plant. Upper management needs to lead by example and not undermine fellow employees’ knowledge or experience of our campus for their own political gain
Look into the Skire submittal process. Right now it is very time-consuming and confusing. Is there a way to make notes directly on the attachment?
In some cases, the fee systems have created silos - competition for a piece of the pie. This competition has decreased collaboration, in favor of expediency.
Consider having Skire project teams set up through Engineering and Architectural Services to make sure all people on the team get included with the ability to review items or have Campus Planning and Administration ask who the team members will be when they set up the project.
