The Physical Plant Division provides and maintains the physical environment for education, research and public service at Michigan State University. Our responsibility is immense and varied: MSU includes 561 buildings, 2,023 acres of park, more than 100 miles of pathways, approximately 67 lane-miles of roadway and 25,000 parking spaces.

Physical Plant holiday parties 2011

MSU vehicles win diesel oxidation catalysts through EPA grant

MSU won diesel oxidation catalysts for 14 University vehicles through an EPA grant. MSU will install diesel oxidation catalysts on 14 University vehicles, thanks to a recent grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The new devices will reduce carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions by up to 50 percent.

Members of the Physical Plant Safety Committee work to keep the campus community safe and secure.Addressing everything from winter hazards to ill-timed traffic lights to radiation threats, the Physical Plant Safety Committee strives to maintain a safe, secure campus.
